The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has selected a running mate for the 2020 elections. The former President has come under intense criticism for failing to name a running mate since his election as the flagbearer of the main opposition party some two years ago. Information gathered by  GhanaNewsPage.Com  indicate that the former President settled on an Akan. The reason, this paper gathered is due to the belief that an Akan, particularly someone from the Ashanti Region will help the party gain more votes in the Akan dominated areas. Ace broadcaster, Paul Adom-Otchere opined same when he run an editorial on the running mate issue in the NDC. “We suspect that if J.J Rawlings is thinking about a running mate for John Mahama, giving that John Mahama comes from the North and he’s thinking about a running mate from the south, we think JJ will point him…directly to the Ashanti Region,” he said on his TV show Good Evening Ghana,

According to Papa Shee, God revealed to him that Bishop Angel Obinim and Rev. OBOFUOR are among the fake prophets whose churchrs will be struck down soon. He described the church as an occultic church taking away people’s destinies through spirituality and turning them away from the most high God. He revealed that Obinim has attacked him spiritually on two occassions with guns and other ommunitions but failed to kill him because he (Papa Shee) was fortified in the Lord. According to him, he gave Obinim the beatings of his life that night. The third spiritual attack was when he came with his wife to beg me, he said. Responding to Obinim’s alleged promiscuous lifestyle, he criticised the bishop for living a wayward life which is far from the life Christ lived on earth. A Ghanaian pastor, Pastor John Mack, has been arrested in Awutu Bontrase in the Central Region after having an affair with a married woman for over a year. Apostle Mack reportedly told this married lady that she has evil spirits in her beads which needed to be exorcised. The exorcism was apparently to be done with his ‘magical stick’ hanging between his legs, which the lady incredulously agreed to. The two then started a one-year affair during which they had relations in different locations including a school park, his church office and the lady’s matrimonial bed! The woman’s husband later found out and reported the case to the traditional authorities, leading to the pastor’s arrest. Adom Tv released a report on the story.

Archbishop George Slezer Ofori-Atta, of the International Council for Clergy (ICC), has urged President Akufo-Addo to reconsider his decision to ban gatherings in churches and mosques in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, if not doom will befall Ghana. According to him in an interview monitored by   MyNewsGh.com , the government needs religious leaders now more than ever since they are better placed to disseminate information to Ghanaians. “We have to get a place where we can get church leaders to sensitise their followers and the congregation,” he told Ahotor FM news. Ms Adubea aafter her arrest A 42-year-old woman has been arrested at Asikuma in the Oti Region for allegedly making a fake baby bump out of slabs of compressed dried leaves which immigration officials suspected to be Indian hemp. Mavis Adubea who is from Nkonya, is said to be a businesswoman who plies her trade in Takoradi. Immigration officials are said to have profiled the woman who they suspected to be dealing in narcotic drugs over the years. At about 8:00 p.m. Sunday, she arrived at the Asikuma Inland Checkpoint with what looked like a baby bump as she portrayed herself as pregnant woman. Immigration officials suspected her pregnancy to be fake and upon body search, it emerged the ‘pregnancy’ was rather a concealment of three slabs of the compressed substance. Adubea was said to be traveling from Kpando to Accra when she was arrested. She has since been handed over to the Police at Ho in the Volta Region for further interrogation and possible prosecution.
